Tutorial (for when you are with the board)

Tutorial guide for when you have the board with you.

Part 1

Don’t be over-whelmed by this board, once you get going, you can have a lot of fun here. See the black sockets in the bottom left corner of the board marked C. Plug in one of the leads provided. Plug the other end into either of the red sockets near the top left corner of the board marked A and B . An LED light should turn on because you have completed the circuit through the battery and the light. Now unplug the lead from the red socket and plug in a different new lead instead. If you touch the two unplugged ends of the leads together you will see the light turn on. Now you can plug these ends into the two blue sockets marked D and E. The light will turn on when you press the button switch in between them.

Now have a go trying some of the other switches on the board to see how they work. When you are comfortable doing that, try using a third lead so your circuit can use two switches.

Part 2

Note the toggle switch in the middle at the bottom marked SPDT. See if you can wire up the board so that when this is thrown it will turn a light is turned on. If you get stuck do ask for help.

Once you have done that, then use half of the DPDT switch as well so that either can be used to control the LED. If you get stuck go back and look at the last board.

Try and think of places the PUSH-TO-BREAK switches can be used. I’ll give you a clue for the one, somewhere cold in your kitchen!
